| Over the past 10 years, Randolph A. Celebrini has developed a unique and powerful collection of “plein air” studies of the rooftops , alleyways , streetscapes and people of Vancouver’s downtown core – including the infamous Downtown Eastside , heritage Chinatown as well as the birthplace of the city , old and cobble-stoned Gastown. His prolific collection of small interpretive “jewels” have fairly drawn comparisons to Tom Thompson’s studies of Algonquin Park – while his compositions echo the sense of urban isolation expressed by Hopper and the unique urban aesthetic of Childe Hassam. His unique approach has already gained international attention from media and collectors. As well, he has been involved in several successful group and individual exhibitions of this artwork. Shown below are some excerpts of press and media coverage of Celebrini and his artwork.
